  • Friends -

I think it's time that I move from my journal type xanga towards my new blogger site where I am discussing money, homemaking, frugality, etc...

Please follow me over there :)

Xanga - you have been good to me... Now I say farewell as I head to only facebook and blogger land...

  • Another Day

Wow.  Time has been flying by since I last wrote an entry!!  Yikes.

Last week was perhaps the busiest week of my entire life - and I'm not even kidding!  Between teaching, babysitting, appointments, Pampered Chef Shows, friends, church, and everything else I am STILL feeling exhausted from, I was quite busy!!

This week is looking up.  Although I am still sleepy!  I have started training at church with Beth, the secretary who will be having a baby in a month so I will be taking her job :)  Today was an exciting day of recording the week's deposits!!  Fun stuff I tell ya :)

Tonight I am going to lead a Woodwind sectional while Sarah Oldre leads a Percussion sectional and Pastor Mike leads Brass - all for our upcoming Christmas concert at church :)  There are many a member of the band who need to start working this far ahead - especially since we only practice about 1 hour once a week.  Should be a fun time.

This is a website that's quickly becoming my favorite!! Cash4Books is a great site that gives you a great price on books!!  Check it out - at the end of the semester especially.  They have tips for finding the best deal for selling your books.  I just sold two old ones for $10 - not a ton of money, but one of the books was free and one was cluttering my house.  No shipping charges!  Hurray :)

Yesterday I cleaned the bathroom... Today I should clean the kitchen, living room, and office... Hm.  Sounds like fun...

  • Greetings from a BEAUTIFULLY SUNNY AND LOVELY Iowa :)

This morning my buddy Cooper was over at 6:30 :)  He's here until 1ish today!  We've been playing outside a lot - it's just so beautiful!!!  Coop also took off 60% of the books from my shelf and then sat on the floor reading them - he's a very advanced 16 month old.  His mom just came to pick him up and asked if he alphabetized them :)

Well not much is going on here.  We had a very quiet weekend at home which was nice.  Besides that I've been working on getting more organized in the office, better grocery shopping/cooking habits (money saving and healthy), and working on some NAMTA stuff.

    Enjoy you day :)

  • Thursday... a day of "rest"

It seems that my day "off" right now is Thursday!  How interesting.  All of my Thursday students have moved to Monday/Wednesday lesson times so I'm studentless and enjoying the hard work I'm making myself do today - Thursday work :)

    So far I've:

    1) Planned the menu for the next 2 weeks and bought most of the groceries needed
    2) Cleaned the oven
    3) Cleaned the windowsill/window area in the kitchen
    4) Folded the laundry
    5) Vacuumed the office
    6) Worked on the budget
    7) Started a new blog and joined a pay per post company
    8) Broken my car key... half of it is in the ignition, half is on my keychain... hm...
    9) Taken Starbuck for a nice walk
    10) Started supper

Whew.  Now I need to clean the bedroom, put away the folded laundry, clean the kitchen, finish the dishes, pick up the living room...  Neverending I tell ya!  I have a Pampered Chef Open House here on Saturday so I'm getting ahead now :)  Tomorrow I have Cooper all day (yippie!!) and we get to go to a NAMTA meeting and to the Cattle Congress Fair.  Should be a beautiful day!  Today it's about 80 and the last few days were more in the 60's.  MMm... I love having the windows open and the fresh air coming in - I also love the fact that I know our next electric bill will be MUCH lower than last month's when it was in the 90's - 100's all month long leaving us no choice but the airconditioners...

  • Brad's Blog

Our friend, Brad Maas, is in Iraq now with the National Guard from MN.  He's blogging and it's been really interesting for me to read of a real soldier's thoughts about the war, Iraq, and everything else.  Will you join with us praying for Brad in Iraq, his grown children Adam and Lisa, his 3rd grade daughter Stefanie, and his wife Rhonda?!  Rhonda is dealing with breast cancer right now and Steffie is dealing with a new teacher, a new school year, and life that goes along without a daddy for a year!
